Astronaut High Homecoming Group

My daughter is a Sophmore this year: this is her 2nd year of Homecoming. This year was sooooo much better than last! These are her friends (Sierra is in the red and black dress) and they were a lot of fun! Thanks for the quick shoot, you guys! YOU ROCK and that's why these images do!

This great group is made up of Brittany, Kaitlyn, Sierra, Eric (such a good sport, putting up with all these gorgeous girls! lucky man!), Kati, Renee and Sami!

Magical Autumn Pumpkin Cake

You are not going to believe this when you see it. Everything on this cake is deliciously edible. And eat it, we did! YES! EVERYTHING! It looked like a decorative fall centerpiece but it was my daughter, Stormy's, birthday cake. Of course, created and designed by the Mistress of Cakes, Johnnie Messler of Something Sweet!
When I asked Stormy what cake theme did she want this year for her Birthday cake, she said, "Autumn". "Oh", I asked, "what kind of flavor do you want?" Without missing a beat she said, "Pumpkin Spice". So, I told Johnnie: 1. she's turning 11 years old 2. she wants a fall theme, pumpkin spice flavor. AND THIS IS WHAT SHE CREATED!!!

Can you imagine being 11 years old and your Birthday cake being so magical?




Detail in this cake is unbelievable! The acorn tops were textured exactly like an true acorn and the stem was too! Johnnie is a true cake artist. Just give her a couple of suggestions for what you like or what you want, and let her go! Give an artist their own freedom to create what is in their heart and they will give it to you!

The Frog at the Front Door

This little green friend has been with us all through the summer. Always there to greet us. We love our frog who lives in the orchid that hangs on the wall by the front door.

New Gallery in Historic Downtown Titusville

We have exciting news! photoARTworks has a new Gallery Downtown at 18 Main Street! It's in the same pink and white seaside cottage as Something Sweet! And sweet it is! I just LOVE it! This is where I will meet with clients from now on! You will love it, too! It has a wonderful feel to it and ALWAYS has a wonderful smell! Johnnie is baking 5 days a week and that makes the whole place feel so warm and inviting! Please come by and see our quaint cottage Gallery! The awesome artistry painted on the walls and floors by Debbie Davis is incredible to see and if you come by on Thursday, Friday (10am-4pm) or Saturday (9am-noon), you can pick up a sweet treat from Something Sweet (these are the days she is open to the public). It's definitely worth the trip----so please come and see us!

Florida Institute of Technology Panther Cake

FIT turned 50 and they commissioned Something Sweet to create an edible masterpiece----and they did! Kudos to Johnnie and Debbie for creating an unbelievable panther mascot cake! Talk about BIG and HEAVY, this kitty was-----and, yes, you can eat every bit of him!! He's my sweet and handsome nephew who just had to have a photo session at my favorite beach (New Smyrna) when he came to visit. Gosh, they grow up so fast!! WE LOVE YOU, TREY!!

Large Mouth Bass Cake from Something Sweet Cake Studio in Titusville

You know, I take pretty-darn-good pictures but, I tell you, these don't do this cake justice. You should have seen it in person! It shimmered in irridescent, brilliant color---as if it was just taken out of the water! The detail in this fish was amazing! And this baby was HUGE!! This incredible Large Mouth Bass Cake was the creation of Johnnie Messler at Something Sweet (16 Main Street) in Titusville. She is spotlighting this cake on her website where she says it took her 2 hours to sculpt it. The Important Things in Life

When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours
in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers.

A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in
front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large
and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He
then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was.

The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the
jar He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas
between the golf balls. He then asked the student again if the jar was
full. They agreed it was.

The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar.
Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the
jar was full. The students responded with an unanimous 'yes.'

The professor then produced two Beers from under the table and poured
the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space
between the sand. The students laughed.

'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to
recognize that this jar represents your life. The golf balls are the
important things---your family, your children, your health, your friends
and your favorite passions---and if everything else was lost and only
they remained, your life would still be full.

The pebbles are the other things that matter like your job, your house
and your car.

The sand is everything else---the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into
the jar first,' he continued, 'there is no room for the pebbles or the
golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and
energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that
are important to you.

'Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend
time with your children. Spend time with your parents. Visit with
grandparents. Take time to get medical checkups. Take your spouse out to
dinner. Play another 18. There will always be time to clean the house
and fix the disposal. Take care of the golf balls first---the things
that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand.'

One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the Beer
represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.'

The Beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem,
there's always room for a couple of Beers with a friend.'
