George & Nikki
George was kind enough to let us use his property for a senior session this past year. It was my pleasure to provide him with a gift as well: portraits of him and Nikki. Don't they look great?! Thanks, George!

Cake Wrecks
I had soooooo much fun photographing the "World Tour" book signing of "Cake Wrecks" at Borders in Winter Park last night!! It was the opening of their tour and Jen & John Yates were FABULOUS!! Have you seen her blog, Cake Wrecks? It's a hoot! But, I have to say, the book is even better! Yes, I mean it! Go look at a copy and you'll just HAVE to buy it!
Have you ever been to a book signing? It's a blast! Especially at Borders where they are VERY accomodating! Kudos to Borders!
And, who was selected to make the cake for 'Cake-Wrecks-World-Tour-Opening-In-Orlando'? Our very own Something Sweet Cake Studio!! Johnnie made a HUGE pop-up book cake with their top 'crazy cakes' Springing to life!! It was fabulous! She not only makes THE best tasting and most AWESOME decorated cakes in Florida, she has a terrific sense of humor! EVERYONE LOVED IT!!! Jen & John were thrilled!! So was the crowd----and there was a large group there! Opening night was exceptional!!

Books sold like hotcakes at Borders.

Johnnie's amazing 'Cake Wreck' Cake!

Jen Yates---the bright and witty author (and pretty, too)!

Jen & her fabulous, fun book!

Yes, that is a naked, mohawked baby riding on a carrot and a turd with flies on the other cake!!

Jen & John kidding around during the interview. They were sooooo much fun!

Another view of this wild and whacky cake!

A shot of the crowd.

Jackie Cockerhan was the winner of the contest to make a cupcake sized replica of your favorite cake wreck. She made one of the divorce cakes.

Another Cake Wreck brought to life by Something Sweet Cake Studio.

Sierra is 16 now
It's crazy to me....how swift these years have come. And it seems the older she gets----the closer she gets to leaving the nest---the faster the time goes.... This year, it's a BIG one for her: 16! She is so very excited, and counts the days and moments until she can drive 'all alone'. Sierra was born the day after her Papa, so we always share a small family gathering to celebrate both birthdays. She also had an intimate gathering of friends here at home for a 'redneck-slip-n-slide' party (BTW, sooooo much more fun than a regular slip-n-slide)!! Oh! Check out her super cool (and incredibly delicious chocolate-mint cake) from Something Sweet in Titusville!
Sierra's big 16 year old gift was instruction & flying a T6 WWII Trainer at Warbird Adventures in Kissimmee. Sierra loves both flying and WWII history so this was an awesome gift for her! We highly recommend this company! They were fabulous! Her instructor-pilot, James, did a fabulous job!!! After her flight, we also purchased a video and some still pictures taken enroute. James even ducked down on one so that it looked like she was the only one in the plane. How cool is that!! You gotta check this company out! It's soooo worth it!
With so much going on with Sierra's b-day, you can imagine there are lots and lots of images! So, I just made a collage of highlights for this post! We love you, Sierra and we are SO VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!

I had to share with you the pictures of these guys from the party (because, yes, they ROCK). Most of my clients are girls-----where are the boys??

Happy Father's Day!
I hope all the wonderful father's of the world had a fun-tastic day! We spent the day at the beach (per Daddy's request). He wanted a relaxing, fun filled day with his girls. We got him a super cool 'recordable' card that also played loonie tunes music (he luvs loonie tunes) and holds a picture of the girls. So, now, he has an up-to-date picture of his girls in his office!

After Rain
This is a painting (by my youngest daughter) on the back of a calendar that we got from a chinese restaurant. Why let an outdated calendar go to waste? Stormy loves to create art! I am always inspired by her vision. So, I took this painting and hung it over my laptop so that I remember how important it is for a little rain in our lives. Symbolism through the eyes of a child.

I hope it makes you smile today.

Sunflower
Growing, glowing, heavy and ripening. Taking in the sun and radiating it. Our solitary sunflower.

Indian River Festival

We visited the Indian River Festival on Friday night. It's a fabulous Titusville Tradition! There was lots to do, see and participate in Thursday through Sunday. Our weekend plans were filled so our only time to share in this year's party was on Friday. Here is a glimpse of our night. Feel free to use any of the fun and crazy images as your personal desktop image!

We arrived at twilight, just as the lights began to glow. Do you recognize anyone in this picture?

Look who else came, too!

Fun rides and games! The grounds were extremely clean, the attendants very courteous and professional, and the rides were lit beautifully!

Making a decision.

She hasn't even gotten off the ride completely and before her feet touch the ground, she has her cell phone in hand. Who will she call? Who will she text?

Stormy had lots of fun playing games and eating lots of carnival foods!

The Indian River Festival is a joy to attend! It's well maintained and our own TPD was in strong force to assure family fun and safety! I can't wait until next year! I hope to see you there!

NASA

NASA held family day on Saturday and we had THE GREATEST TIME!! My sister, Rhonda, and her husband, George, work out there and they invited their family to share in their work world. What a fabulous adventure! I got so many INCREDIBLE shots! These are just a few! Take a look!

If you recognize some of these control panels, you just may be an original rocket scientist!! Our day started out on the Air Force side and we visited old Blockhouses (that's the original launch control rooms for those of you who do not know) and original launch pads.

While on the Air Force side, we visited the Cape Canaveral Lighthouse!! What a treat that was for me and Scott! As lighthouse fans, we have always wanted to visit the light in our backyard! However, it is a very rare occurance for it to be open to the public. After all these years, we finally were able to see it!

You won't believe what happened next: we visited the shuttles-----that's right, SHUTTLES ON THE PADS!!! NASA allowed families to drive by each pad and see the last time that two shuttles would be on the pads at the same time. Rhonda & George had previously taken me out there for a close encounter with a shuttle lift off, and I have been on tours-----but NEVER anything like this!! What a wonderful, historical event!!! It was breathtaking and very moving to see those majestic ships sitting along our seashore, poised for their next lift off! I shall never forget the thrill of this day!

Atlantis on Pad A and Endeavour on Pad B.

Reduced speed ahead? I don't think so, America! WE LOVE OUR SPACE PROGRAM!!!

Touches of Easter
There is nothing like family! I wanted to share a few touches of our family time on Easter!

My fun and crazy kids!

Our table was the very essence of Spring!

This is the true historian of our family: my mother in law, Elaine. She always assures the memories of our family live on through the pictures she captures. Elaine has created beautiful photo albums of our precious time together that tell our family history in pictorial. We enjoy looking back through time.... Do you or someone you know document your family's story? (You may notice, she's a Canon girl, too).
