This Takes the Cake!

This fabulous display of wedding cakes at Something Sweet really rocked! It was a bustling cottage of young couples and their parents-----giggling, tasting, playing, tasting, laughing, tasting! It's true----cake puts everyone in a good mood! It was so great to see old and new friends there! Thanks to those who attended and received "Something Sweet"!

Before the event, I went and took images of Johnnie's beautifully displayed cakes! Johnnie says this Tropical Paradise Cake has been everyone's favorite so far. And who can blame them? What's Happening Tomorrow at Something Sweet?!

It's cake tasting time for Brides-to-Be! Yes, it's true! Free cake! Now you can have your cake and eat it too, ladies! Johnnie Messler creates the BEST tasting, ARTISTIC cakes in our area! I mean, along this coast line, people! This years array includes Hand-Painted Spring Cakes, 3-D Tropical Bamboo and Flower Cakes, a Bird Cage Cake, Contemporary and Elegant Black-n-white cakes-----oh, my gosh! There's so much, I can't even list them all! You can bet they are as delicious as they are fabulous looking! Have you ever seen the show "Ace of Cakes" on the Foodnetwork? Well, girlfriend, we have that right here in Titusville! She can make ANYTHING!

Beta Sigma Phi-----Phun!

Yes, Phun! Fun, fun! Last night I was invited to speak at the Beta Sigma Phi meeting in New Smyrna Beach and it was a blast! Wow! What a wonderful group of women! And, that chapter is pretty big. I'd say about 25 attended. The hostess was Mariann Bradley (an Earth-Bound Angel) who wanted me to share what I do with them. Boy, was I nervous-----I had never spoke to a large group of people. But let me tell you, if you want a fabulous group to speak to, there is no other! They were kind and understanding, I felt right at home. I just couldn't have asked for it to be any better! I had so much fun, I want to do it again!

Great Images Just Don't Happen

Yes, it's true: Great images just don't happen, they are created! Attention to lighting, subject posing and expression, light skimming across and into the eyes, details around the subject, technical camera attention-----there is a lot more to it than pushing a button!

Here's a picture of my (sweet daughter) assistant, Sierra, "popping" light back into Courtney's face and gorgeous eyes! The reflector is important because the sun is behind Courtney and I do not want to use a flash (I LOVE natural light)! Below is a picture of what I saw through the lens. Sierra is a great help on Senior shoots!

When you have a beautiful subject, it really helps with the retouching later! And, yes, all of the images I create are retouched, even when you are a natural born beauty like Courtney! Isn't she super? She is as sweet and fun as she is gorgeous!
