Greetings! Ciao! Hola! Thanks for checking out my blog. It’s a sneak peek into my crazy, fun world: kinda, journaling with a camera! Oh, but who am I? I’m a photographer and artist who’s totally, I mean, TOTALLY in love with what she does! It’s so hard to call it a ‘job’-----it’s much too fun to be a job! I’m able to meet and hang out with super cool people (oh, yeah!), do wild, exciting things (woot!) and create out-of-this-world, one-of-a-kind art (rock on)! All of this from behind my lens: how super cool is that? (Thank you, God, for I am blessed!) I’m based in Titusville, Florida but, hey, I’ve traveled to faraway places for my fabulous clients (and I’ll do it again)! Please, take your time and have a look around, if you like what you see, give me a call or shoot me an email, tag me on twitter or look me up on facebook. I adore meeting new people and working on new projects (outrageously outlandish to creatively calm) and I’d love to work with you!

Happy Fourth!

How was your 4th? Many places were rained out but, here in Titusville, we were lucky and rain averted us. My friend, Kim, and her kids came and we grilled hotdogs and hamburgers (veggie burgers for me; as many of you know, I am a longtime vegetarian). Kim made a fabulous broccoli salad (see recipe below)! She also mentored me on photographing fireworks because she is the queen when it comes to photographing fireworks!

I did alright. Too bad you only get to practice once a year! While looking at the images, they reminded me of many things: flowers, palm trees, nebula. Scott said that, in a way, they were like snowflakes: no two are the same.

Kim's Broccoli Salad

2 Heads of Broccoli – cut
1 ½ cups diced celery
½ lb. bacon – fried and crumbled--(deleted for the vegetarians)
1 ½ cup green grapes (I sliced them in ½)
1 cup raisins
¼ cup onions
1/3 cup sunflower seeds

Dressing

1 cup mayo
1 tbsp. white vinegar
1/3 cup sugar

Throw it all in a bowl and toss and Enjoy!

Expect Great Things! Believe!

"If you expect the best, you will be the best. Learn to use one of the most powerful laws in this world; change your mental habits to belief instead of disbelief. Learn to expect, not to doubt. In so doing, you bring everything into the realm of possibility."

She's One

In just the blink of an eye, she's one.... and this calls for a celebration!! With a tropical theme, it's time to play in Florida! Hawaiian dances, water sports, relay races, birds that entertain, a volocano cake and endless fun, food, music and festivities! You're only One, once! This wonderful event was designed by "An Affair with Jamie" and attended by many loved ones: both family and friends!

Vacation Time, Now You are the Photographer!

Going on vacation soon? Well, pack up that digital camera (I'm a Canon girl, how about you?) and remember these tips!

1. Keep it on automatic! Digital camera's are very smart, let them do the thinking for you! It will flash when needed and not flash if it doesn't need to.
2. It's easy to get caught up in the moment of having everyone together to get a great shot, but be mindful of the background: don't have a tree or pole protruding from someone's head. (This is where YOU have to do the thinking.)
3. Balance what you take. Besides taking that picture of your family grinning while standing in front of a statue, take a silly picture too: stand back and have some one look like they are kicking or biting it. Take spontaneous images: while your loved ones are playing around or gazing amazed at an incredible new discovery. Capture images of the cabin or hotel you stayed in; it helps tell the story and set the tone. If you vacation there again, years from now, it's fun to see how you and the environment has changed.
4. Experiment! Turn off the flash and take a picture at night: make a silouette or streaming colors of light from moving vehicles. If it doesn't turn out, don't worry! No one will know and you can delete it!
5. Once you download your images, make 2 copies on 2 different disc's. This way, if one cd does not work or becomes scratched, you always have a backup.
6. Tell your story in a special way: buy a special album (because this is a special occassion---vacations are too few and far between!). Check out http://www.adessoalbums.com/digital-instant-photo-guest-books.html for a very nice and unique album.

Have fun!

I saw them breifly a few years ago in Las Vegas at the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International convention and they produce amazing work! These eclectic artsists weave photography into masterpieces that reflect a warm and rich style of portraiture. I am excited to be their student and I can't wait to share my experience with you!

From Pregnancy to Newborn...

I am witness to so many great things......the sharing of life's most important moments. This is one of my most beautiful clients who shared her family, her pregnancy and her newborn with me. Thank you for giving me the honor of witnessing the greatest gift.....the gift of life, the gift of love. Thank you for your unending kindness, JoAnna.

Fine Art at Grandmother's

Here are two sweet & beautiful girls I had the pleasure of working with recently. I know you will enjoy seeing their fabulous portraits! Their lovely grandmother wanted a Fine Art Portrait created in her home, at the piano. The girls were absolutely wonderful to work with and after our Fine Art work indoors, we went outside for a bit of fun and relaxing!

The Best Gifts are Unexpected...

and for no reason at all; given with the heart. I recently was the recipient of such a heart-felt gift. My clients, Donna & Clay Price gave me the gift of an advertisement ad for my business. They have a beautiful daughter, Carissa (one of my favorite models!), who dances at Titusville Ballet and Jazz. Carissa has a recital coming up soon and they purchased an ad in the Progam for PhotoArtWorks! What a generous gift! Isn't that incredibly thoughtful? To think of me and surprise me with this........I am deeply moved with their depth of consideration, thoughtfulness and generosity! Sometimes, Angels come along when you need them the most. So, if you are a dance parent of a child at TBJC, while you are thumbing through the Recital Program and see an ad for PhotoArtWorks, remember that is was a gift from the heart!

Donna & Clay are owners of Coastal Glass & Tint at 4205 S. Hopkins Av. Titusville. 269-0189
Thank you, Donna & Clay, you lifted my spirit!!

Now, Here's a Handsome Guy!

Most parents have me photograph their daughter but not their son. What's up? What's up with the parents of the guys? Your son will be gone before you know it---get a Lifestyle Session of images while you can! These are perfect sessions for boys and young men: they are outdoors where they are more comfortable and can show off things they like and like to do: things such as fishing, their car or truck! Or just looking good in formal attire like Brett is here! You look great Brett, thanks!

You Are My Blessing

I'd like to share with you someone who took the time to touch my heart-----someone who took the time to share her heart with me. She is the mother of a Senior from Astronaut High and had me create her daughters' Portfolio last year; she will be graduating this month. Below is the email she sent yesterday.

Sharlene,

We are in the last leg of our year until graduation. I have been so busy the last several weeks I just haven't taken any time to reflect.
I wanted you to know I had a couple hours alone today. I sat and watched Annalise's DVD 3 times. It was just what I needed. I finally had a moment to quietly cry (weep is more accurate).
I just wanted to say thank you. Maybe now I can get through Baccalaureate.
Andi

Andi, you have forever touched my soul......
And, now, some images of Annalise!

Best Wishes to All 2007 Seniors!!! You are on your way!!
